Social Chair Steve Katz

The Social Chair Member for FVSA, Steve Katz is a senior SAC Major. He hails from Cleveland, Ohio, but decided to go to UM, mainly because all the schools in Ohio are terrible. He is a director, writer, storyboard artist, oil painter and altogether nice guy. On top of film making he enjoys art, mainly painting, golf, skiing, traveling and music. He will be graduating in 2009.

Board Member Amina Farha

Amina is theoretically a senior at the University of Michigan, double majoring in Screen Arts and Cultures, and Brain, Behavior, and Cognitive Science. She often refers to her majors simply as "film and biopsych." It doesn't sound as impressive, but it's a lot easier to say. She is from Ann Arbor, lives in Dexter, and finds it strange to write about herself in the third person. When people ask her what she plans to do with her film major, she tells them that she'd like to make experimental documentaries or work for PBS. What they don't know is that her real goal is to direct music videos for Nine Inch Nails.

Board Member Mitchell Akselrad

Mitchell Akselrad is a senior in the LSA school and the first SAC concentrator at the University of Michigan.  Currently pursuing his honors thesis, Mitchell spends most of his time staring at a computer screen, indoors, hoping to find alternative sources of Vitamin D.

Board Member Kenneth Robert Jackson

As a senior majoring in Screen Arts and Cultures at the University of Michigan, Ken likes to spend much of his time hiking to and from the Argus II building, spending hours with his hands in a black bag spooling broken film, and sleeping in ISS while the computer captures his footage. During his free time, Ken can be found at Veteran's Memorial playing hockey, bloodying up his friends on the racquetball court, or appeasing his girlfriend with delicately woven words placed upon her Facebook wall. This is Ken's first year serving on the FVSA as the fund raising chair. Therefore, if there is one thing you could do to make him happy, it would be to donate funds to the FVSA.
